Proposed All-Weather Tennis Court and Fencing

Carré Consultancy were recommended to this homeowner to assist with planning issues surrounding a residential Tennis Court proposal in Sidlow, Surrey.

North Lodge, Ironsbottom

Following on from our work with a local sports pitch provider, Carré Consultancy were recommended to this homeowner to assist with planning issues surrounding a residential Tennis Court proposal in Sidlow, Surrey.

The Client had previously requested a Certificate of Lawful Development (used in this case to identify if the courts could be installed under permitted development rights) but unfortunately, this had been refused by the local planners.

Carré Consultancy were able to provide detailed planning advice on the content of this refusal, the prospects of any appeal process, and on the process of making a full planning application. With the property located within open space on the Metropolitan Green Belt the planning application would not be straightforward but with a good grasp on local and national planning policy, we were able to draft a comprehensive planning package with robust supporting documents to give the application its best possible chance of success.

The Planning Case Officer’s report for the application draws attention to our review of local and national planning policy, in addition to the inclusion of evidence surrounding similar successful sports court applications within Green Belts and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, before making its recommendation for approval.

We wish the client many hours of enjoyment from their new court once construction works are complete.
